'Requiem' is a piece that means everything to us and its creator, Tara Guram. 
Tara and Animo met in 2019 and we had a day of working together, trying different ideas, sounds, noises which we discarded or expanded; we laughed and cried together as we remembered those who were dear to us and now lost from being part of our lives (or, as Tara puts it 'dead people are very much part of our lives'). It was those conversations that took place which enabled the creation of such an important piece.
The piece is dedicated to Tara's mother's memory but we know that its emotion will touch many people who hear it for the first time.
Sarah commented on Tara's extraordinary ability to write in a particular register, for both instruments, that creates a sound unique to this piece; it's a fascinating musical language and aesthetic and one that we've not encountered before.
It is with great privilege that we will present Tara's 'Requiem' on the 15th July for its LIVE premiere at our Bösendorfer Hall concert. We really hope you tune in and listen to this remarkable new composer who says so much with so little.
