I was looking through our launch photos, our dream that became reality, and I kept thinking of a motivational postcard that a friend gave me 25 years ago: "nothing happens unless first (a) we dream". I believe the quote is by Carl Sandburg, an award winning poet and author of high acclaim, famous for writing Abraham Lincoln's biography.
Carl Sanburg was the son of Swedish immigrants August and Clara Anderson Sandburg.
He was also a performer "...Beginning in 1903 ... He played the guitar and sang folk songs, read his poetry aloud, and talked about his dreams for America."
I can't help but think that Animo, us, we are the product of our own dream. Much like a river the dream meanders through our life's landscape, finding and overcoming obstacles, sometimes peacefully and almost inaudibly flowing through, other times gathering speed and sometimes looking deceptively still.
"Nothing happens unless first a dream". The dream proclaims its purpose without fanfares or grand gestures, just a thought, a seemingly still but wistful, rich, technicolour landscape of desires and completeness.
It seems to me we are all part of the same dream, sharing the same world, bathing our senses in the same music, speaking the same language of humanity. That's the dream anyway!
Our warmest festive wishes to you all! Our thanks for being part of our dream.
May we live in a world that is united in its purpose and dreams. Animo will bring the music-:)
