So, Animo have been invited to participate as performers at the 3rd Annual AEMC virtual conference. With the AEMC conference nearly upon us, we had to think quickly about whether we could introduce one of the new pieces written by Lukas Piel with the title 'The Journey of Alan Kurdi'. Lukas was so moved by the little boy's tragic story that he wanted to share his emotion and thoughts in music.
We decided to open the glass doors of our Eden's Hill Studio and we played the piece 'al fresco' taking as many precautions as our brains could fathom! It's really difficult having a thinking brain during this pandemic...
Sarah produced a video by putting together some of our launch videos. This video will be shown during the 3rd annual AEMC virtual conference at the end of June (2020) and we hope that the delegates can listen in to this beautifully crafted piece, full of emotion, power and also stillness, all against the permanence of a ticking clock ... As Lukas put it: "The running out of time, presented through the clock, is very important here for it represents the never ending escape."
Animo will be recording and producing more videos/audio now that we are able to rehearse in closer proximity.
In the next few weeks we will be rehearsing for ANIMO 2 (our second CD) and working with our composers to launch their pieces on a bigger stage and online.
We hope to see performance venues opening their doors to music lovers. Let music heal and bing balance to the world!
Don't forget that we are always happy to hear your views and chat with you. Contact us via our website or instagram. Sarah keeps our Instagram posts alive and I will be keeping you updated with our news via our Blog.
Excited to be back at work, excited for this new chapter, excited to be alive and well!
